In attempt to help curb the spread of COVID19,
Vietnam Airlines will conduct temperature checks of all passengers
departing from Europe prior to embarkation and provide them with
face masks to be worn throughout the flights.
The airline says it also recommends passengers to
remain seated and refrain from movement and communication once onboard.
Vietnam Airlines disinfects all aircraft returning
from overseas. Aircraft, including their entire cabins, cockpits,
and galley areas, are disinfected as soon as they arrived at the
apron with added focus attached to not only frequently touched
surfaces such as overhead compartment locks, armrests, and
lavatory doorknobs, but also seat covers, carpets, floors, and
other potential areas of direct contact.
The disinfectant used is CH2200, a compound approved by aircraft manufacturers
that meets the standards stipulated by health authorities and
poses no health risks to passengers.
As far as domestic flights are concerned, Vietnam
Airlines says it "frequently disinfects" touched surfaces on
aircraft after each flight.
Headphones are disinfected with the Chloramine B
solution. Other equipment that passengers may be exposed to,
including passenger boarding ridges, boarding staircases, and
wheelchairs, at the Noi Bai Airport and the Tan Son Nhat Airport
are also disinfected with appropriate solutions on a "regular
basis".
