Charles H. in Seoul Ranked as One of the Best Bars in the World

It will come as no surprise to any bar lover who has visited Charles H. at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul, that the hidden gem has been ranked as one of the best bars in the world.

Charles H. was ranked #49 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020 list and is the only bar in Korea to be recognised in the top 50 which is voted by an academy of more than 200 industry specialists, bartenders around the world.

Leading the passionate and highly skilled team at Charles H. is Head Bartender Keith Motsi.

With a nod to the prohibition-era speakeasies of New York, Charles H. at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul opened its doors in October 2015, introducing a thoroughly modern drinking experience inspired by the travels and writings of global cocktail authority and legendary bon vivant Charles H. Baker.

Designed by AvroKo, the décor of the bar is inspired by the intricate subterranean spaces of 1920s and 1930s New York, and incorporates palette and details inspired by the Korean traditional royal dress and modern Korean metalwork to create a sense of exoticism, glamour and romance previously unseen in Seoul’s speakeasy scene.
