Bangkok Airways has confirmed that it will
expand its operations in Chiang Mai, Thailand with two new routes.
The airline will launch flights between Chiang Mai
(CNX) and the popular beach destination of Krabi (KBV) in southern
Thailand, as well as between Chiang Mai and the UNESCO world
heritage site of Luang Prabang (LPQ) in Laos.
The one way Chiang
Mai - Krabi service will begin on 31 March 2019 with
three flights per week on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. From 30 April 2019
Bangkok Airways will operate the route with daily flights.
The
airline will use an 144-seat
Airbus A319 aircraft to service the route.
The outbound flight
PG246 will depart Chiang Mai International Airport at 12:00 and
arrive in Krabi at 13:55. The aircraft will then depart Krabi on a
new service to Bangkok before heading back to Chiang Mai from the
capital city. Flight PG926 is scheduled to leave Krabi at 14:40
landing at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) at 16:10. More on this to come.
The round-trip Chiang Mai
- Luang Prabang service will begin on 2 April 2019 and will operate
three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with
70-seat ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The outbound flight PG983 will
depart Chiang Mai International Airport at 16:30 and arrive in Luang Prabang at 17:45.
Flight PG984 is timed to depart Luang Prabang at
18:30 and arrive back in Chiang Mai at 19:45.
