Air New Zealand Launches Flights Between Auckland and Invercargill

Air New Zealand has launched flights between Auckland and Invercargill, in the deep south of the country.

Air New Zealand will operate the route with Airbus A320 aircraft fives times per week.

Flight NZ698 is scheduled to depart from Invercargill on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 06:00 and arrive in Auckland at 07:55. On Saturdays, the NZ698 Invercargill-Auckland service will depart at 09:15 and arrived in Auckland at 11:10.

The return flight, NZ699, is timed to leave Auckland on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 19:35 and arrive in Invercargill at 21:35.

Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Luxon, said, "It's terrific to get our new direct service between Auckland and Invercargill up and running ... We know the Southland community has been asking for a direct service for some time and we look forward to locals getting behind it. The new service answers Southland's growth aspirations, with Invercargill never having been closer to New Zealand's largest city and international gateway. The service will support Southland's tourism ambitions, as well as the ability to transport an extra 500 tonnes of goods a year from Invercargill to Auckland and beyond."
