Singapore Airlines (SIA) has signed a
cooperative marketing agreement to promote tourism to Western
Australia.
Under the A$ 5 million three-year agreement, SIA
and Tourism Western Australia (TWA) will jointly fund marketing
campaigns to promote travel to Western Australia in 10 key
international markets (China, Germany/Switzerland, Hong Kong,
India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, UK and US) by way of
SIA’s services to Perth.
The Hon Paul Papalia CSC MLA, Western Australia Tourism
Minister, said, “Our partnership with Singapore Airlines, which dates
back to 1999, is extremely important in attracting more people to
Western Australia, from all across the globe. The aim is to fill
the flights through promotional airfares and offer visitors
adventure-filled travel packages so they can experience all that
our amazing state has to offer while they’re here.”
SIA
has served the Australian market for more than five decades. The
airline now operates a total of 137 weekly flights to Australia,
including 28 weekly services to Perth in Western Australia, 7
weekly services to Canberra, 28 weekly services to Brisbane, 32
weekly services to Melbourne, 7 weekly services to Adelaide and 35
weekly services to Sydney.
Subsidiary SilkAir also
operates 7 weekly services to Cairns and 7 weekly services to
Darwin, while Scoot operates 9 weekly services to Perth, 10 weekly
services to Melbourne, 9 weekly services to Sydney and 5 weekly
services to Gold Coast.
“Singapore Airlines and Tourism Western
Australia have been close partners for 20 years. This latest deal that we
have signed is an extension of that partnership and we are
grateful for Tourism Western Australia’s confidence in our
relationship,” said Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Sales
and Marketing, Mr Campbell Wilson. “The continuation of
this strategic partnership is a testament to our dedication to the
Australian market, and I am sure that more travellers will be
encouraged to visit the beautiful sights and attractions Western
Australia has to offer.”
