The JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong has appointed Mr. Silvio Rosenberger as
General Manager.
Silvio is responsible for the overall strategic
directions, operational activities and guest services of the hotel
as well as leading the team of 750 employees under his direction.
A German native, Silvio joins the JW Marriott
Hotel Hong Kong from the JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai
Tomorrow Square, where he had been General Manager since 2012, and Area
General Manager for the past 2 years.
Silvio has been with Marriott for over 25
years, managing several Marriott hotels in Shanghai and Shenzhen
including Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott
Shanghai Xujiahui, Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai Hotel, Renaissance
Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel, as well as JW Marriott Hotel
Shenzhen.
He was also the Chairman of the East China
Business Council between 2011 and 2017, and was named Business
Council Chairperson of the Year during such period in recognition
of his effort in community engagement, outstanding performance in
culture, as well as his outstanding leadership.
Other company
accolades include Mustang Award, Food & Beverage Leadership Award,
Opening Hotel of the Year International Award, and General Manager
of the Year Award.
Silvio began his hospitality career in his native
Germany, started with front office and accounting before moving up
the ranks to become the Director of Finance at the Munich Marriott
Hotel. His career journey then brought him to Asia when he worked
as the Operations and Finance Director at the New World Saigon
Hotel in the 2000s, before he began his tenure with Marriott in
Shanghai for more than a decade.
Silvio is married with two daughters, and is an
avid sports lover.
