Malaysia Airlines has unveiled plans to increase
flights between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing from seven to ten flights
per week, beginning 1 January 2020.
The decision follows the airline’s
relocation of operations to Beijing Daxing International Airport
(PKX) from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK).
From 1 January 2020, MH318 will depart daily
with additional frequencies on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Kuala Lumpur.
The daily service will depart Kuala Lumpur at
00:40 and arrive in
Beijing Daxing at 07:00 the same day. MH319, the daily return service, will depart from Beijing Daxing at
09:30 and arrive in
Kuala Lumpur at 16:00 the same day.
The additional frequency,
MH364, is scheduled to depart from Kuala Lumpur at 14:30 and arrive in Beijing Daxing at
20:50 the same day. The return service MH365 is timed to
depart from Beijing Daxing at 21:55 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at
04:25 the following day.
Izham Ismail, Malaysia Airlines Group Chief
Executive Officer, said, “The opening of this new gateway
gives Malaysia Airlines the opportunity to begin a new chapter in
the long history it has with Beijing. While we had great success
with operating the route from Beijing Capital International
Airport, moving to the new, ground-breaking Daxing airport will
provide us the opportunity to expand and grow further into Beijing
in the future. It will enhance the travel experience and comfort
levels of our passengers with the airport’s state-of-the-art
facilities, and will facilitate better connectivity with our other
airline partners.”
