Thai AirAsia has unveiled plans to launch direct
flights between
Chiang Rai in the north of Thailand and Hangzhou, China.
The
airline will operate the route four times per week on Mondays,
Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, commencing 1 December 2019.
Flight FD888 is scheduled to depart from Chiang
Rai (CEI) at 17:30 and arrive in Hangzhou (HGH) at 22:45.
The return flight, FD889, is scheduled to leave
Hangzhou at 23:50 and arrive back in Chiang Rai at 03:05 the
following day.
AirAsia Thailand CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said, “Our
international network from Chiang Rai continues to go from
strength to strength. Chiang Rai has become a well known Thai
destination for Chinese visitors thanks to its fantastic tourism
and cultural offerings and a unique way of life. We hope to be
able to attract more Chinese tourists to Chiang Rai, as well as
allow Chiang Rai locals to visit Hangzhou, China.”
Hangzhou, one of China’s oldest cities, is home to picturesque
sites such as Xihu Lake, Lingyin Temple and Leifeng Pagoda, making
it a cultural and artistic haven for many. Moreover, the city is a
wonderful destination for travelers looking to enjoy cool weather
and snow. With easy access to high-speed bullet train, visitors
are also able to connect from Hangzhou to Shanghai in just one
hour.
