Airbus will be one of the largest exhibitors at
Avalon 2019 with a presence covering its entire range of products
and services, including commercial and military aircraft,
helicopters, and unmanned and space applications.
The air show will be held at the Avalon Airport
in Geelong, Victoria, from 26 February to 3 March.
At the exhibition hall, the Airbus stand (#1M16
in Hall 1) will feature scale models of the new A350-1000
long-range airliner, the H145M twin-engine helicopter, the C295
maritime patrol aircraft, and the new-generation Eurostar Neo
communications satellite.
Visitors to the stand will also be able
to experience the capabilities of various Airbus products via the
latest augmented and virtual reality HoloLens applications. These
will include a tour of the new A330neo mid-size widebody, the
H145M fitted with the HForce weapons system and a specifically
tailored Taipan MRH-90 Multi Role Helicopter.
Highlights at the air show include cutting-edge
Airbus military aircraft such as the Royal Australian Air Force
A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), as well as a Royal
Malaysian Air Force A400M transport aircraft (pictured).
Visitors will also be able to get up close to the Australian
Defence Force’s Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH) and
the Taipan MRH-90.
Also on static display will be two versions of
the versatile twin-engine H135 helicopter - one in a corporate
configuration and the other equipped for medical services.
In a dedicated exhibit near to the static
display, Airbus will also showcase Zephyr. This new solar-powered
stratospheric High Altitude Pseudo Satellite is currently
undergoing trials in Western Australia. The exhibit will focus on
Zephyr’s unique capabilities and applications for missions
including maritime surveillance, real-time bush fire management
and geo-mapping, as well as its ability to enhance connectivity in
remote regions of the world.
The Pacific region is a key market for Airbus.
Customers from the region have ordered over 300 commercial and
military aircraft and more than 600 helicopters from the
manufacturer. The company also has a major industrial presence in
the region via its Brisbane-based subsidiary Airbus Australia
Pacific.
