Marketing Manchester and the VisitBritain
Shop have joined Tourism Exchange GB (TXGB) as distributors.
Developed by VisitEngland with tech partners
Rainmaker and V3, the new online
platform is designed to link English tourism
suppliers, such as hotels and other accommodation providers,
attractions, tours, etc, with distributors, such as
online agents, with reach all over the world.
The system allows suppliers to manage live
availability, pricing and bookings, while distributors can easily tap into
the rapidly growing range of up-to-date tourism products.
Marketing Manchester’s new
distribution channel will help suppliers in the area raise their
profile to overseas visitors, while the VisitBritain Shop gives
attractions and experiences the benefit from the Shop’s 12
markets.
Sue Jerham from
National Forest E-Bike Holidays has already taken her first
booking via TXGB.
“Having utilised the TXGB system to take
payment for a booking, I'm really excited by its potential and can
see how it will help reach overseas customers, as well as providing an efficient payment tool for UK guests,”
Sue said. “The support
from TXGB has been superb. I'm not very technical and was daunted
by the system at first. However, Lewis, my account manager worked
really hard to understand my business model. He was always there
at the end of the phone to answer my questions and provide
support. As a small business offering electric bike cycling
holidays, this professional booking and payment system, which can
dovetail into my existing business model is fantastic. I'm certain
that TXGB will become an integral part of my business model and
strongly recommend it to other small tourism businesses.”
