Whitbread’s restaurant business has collaborated
with Blue Light Card (BLC) to provide a discount of 25% off food ordered
from the main menu, for those who work for the NHS, the emergency
services and Armed Forces.
The discount is available at the following
Whitbread restaurants: Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table, Thyme, Bar + Block and Cookhouse and Pub.
Whitbread has partnered with the scheme to celebrate its 10th
anniversary - giving those who put their life on the line as well
as doctors, nurses, police and fire service personnel plus
selected other public sector workers a hearty discount when
dining with family or friends.
BLC, the UK's biggest Emergency
Services, NHS and Armed Forces discount provider, started in
September 2008 and has since welcomed over a million members
within the last 10 years, providing in store and online discount
to people who put others before themselves every day.
To redeem the offer, card holders simply need to show they have a
BLC membership to the server when ordering and present it when the
bill is requested.
Phil Birbeck, Managing Director of
Whitbread Restaurants said, “The UK’s Armed Forces, NHS workers
and Emergency Service personnel are among the thousands of public
sector workers who do us proud on a daily basis. We are delighted
to offer one of the Blue Light Card’s meal discount as a small
token of our appreciation for the outstanding work they do.”
Whitbread also recently launched a military
recruitment scheme partnering with the Ministry of Defence
to help veterans get back into work and making it easier for spouses
and partners of serving personnel to find jobs in the UK.
