China’s First JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Opens in Shanghai

Marriott has expanded its rapidly growing portfolio of hotels in China with the opening of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong, the first JW Marriott Marquis hotel in the country.

Owned by China’s Luneng Group, the 515-room JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong is centrally located and allows for convenient access to the city’s main business centers and visitor attractions such as the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, the Mercedes-Benz Cultural Arena and Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. Shanghai Disney Resort, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, and Shanghai Pudong International Airport are also within easy reach.

Designed by acclaimed architect Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), the 39-storey hotel features over 34,445 sq. ft. of meeting space, a variety of F&B outlets, a spa and a heated indoor infinity pool with luxury amenities such as Dyson hairdryers in changing rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows on the pool deck offering views of the Huangpu River.

Each of the property’s guestrooms features a Simmons mattress, 55-inch Samsung flat screen TV, surround sound system and Nespresso coffee machine.
