A Hebridean self-catering hideaway with views of
the golden shores of Scarista beach and the Atlantic Ocean has
received VisitScotland’s highest rating for quality.
The Sheep
Station, located in Scaristavore on the south of the Isle of
Harris, has been awarded 5 Stars in the national tourism
organisation’s Quality
Assurance (QA) scheme.
“The Sheep Station truly has the ‘wow’ factor and
is only matched by its stunning location on the beautiful Outer
Hebrides. The five-star grading reflects the investment and
commitment of owners Catherine and Richard Sinclair-Scott in
creating a high-quality experience for visitors and it is a fine
example of the luxury accommodation market on the Isle of Harris,”
said Chris Taylor, VisitScotland Regional Leadership Director. “Tourism is the heartbeat of the Scottish
economy and touches every community, generating income, jobs and
social change and the Quality Assurance award scheme helps
businesses to reach their full potential and truly shine.”
The Sheep Station comprises of two one-bedroom
properties (House One and House Two) and is just a short drive
away from the world-famous Luskentyre beach.
Designed by Dualchas, specialists in the
renaissance of Highland architecture, the houses feature luxury
interiors and outstanding views that guests are unlikely to ever
forget.
The self-catering accommodation was praised for
its “wow factor” and a welcome pack provided on arrival which
includes Bollinger champagne and Scottish produce was described as
“second to none” in the QA assessment.
Catherine and Richard Sinclair-Scott, owners of
The Sheep Station, said, “The concept of The Sheep Station is to
offer a luxury home away from home amidst the natural beauty of
Harris' west coast. What drew us to Scaristavore was the
stunning landscape and we've worked to create homes that
complement that unique island environment. We're delighted to
receive five stars from VisitScotland so early in our journey. We
look forward to welcoming visitors from across the globe to The
Sheep Station and the stunning Isle of Harris.”
