Indonesia's Archipelago International has
launched Nomad Hostel, a new brand that the company says will
provide budget-oriented, dormitory-style shared rooms and
bathrooms, as well as convivial communal facilities such as a
lounge, restaurant, laundry facilities, and high-speed Wi-Fi.
The first Nomad Hostel opened on Wednesday, 8
August 2018 in
Kemang, one of Jakarta's most iconic districts for both day and
night entertainment.
The Nomad Hostel Kemang features 192 pods split
into four room types: 10 Pods, 14 Pods, 16 Pods, and 20 Pods. Each
room is then separated between male and female travelers, with the
second floor belonging solely for female guests.
Facilities at Nomad Hostel Kemang include common areas, bathrooms, a
swimming pool, and coin laundry services - all available for
sharing. A coffee shop with both an indoor and outdoor area is
also available, with complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the
hostel.
“Kemang is all about the best things Jakarta has
to offer: the best brunches, date night destinations, after-work
drink spots, shopping malls, and even the best late-night dancing
haunts,” said John Flood, President and CEO of Archipelago
International. “Kemang is therefore the ideal location for us to
launch our brand new chain of Nomad Hostels. Here at Archipelago
International, we are very excited to see Nomad Hostels grow, and
this burgeoning destination couldn’t be better suited for the
launch of this exciting new brand.”
Nomad Hostels is the first wholly budget brand
from Archipelago International, joining the groups' other
segments, including the select-service favehotel and Hotel NEO,
the economy Quest Hotel and Harper, and the upscale Aston, Alana,
Aston Heritage Collection, and Kamuela.
John Flood said,
"Not only is Archipelago International
embarking on an entirely new venture, we'll also be increasing our
international presence with our sights set on the overseas market
in the future. This is a great milestone in the company's history
and we look forward to developing this new chapter even further."
