Dusit Thani Bangkok - Is it Really Going to
Close?
[HD video and podcast
below] Is the Dusit Thani Bangkok closing, or not? If it is
closing, when will it close and is that date final - or could it
change again?
Steven Howard of TravelNewsAsia.com sat
down with Khun Titiya Xuto, Vice President Operations Thailand and
General Manager of the Dusit Thani Bangkok, on 5 July 2018 to ask
her these questions and many more.
We discuss the new date which the hotel is set
to close and you will learn what the hotel has planned for guests
between now and then.
Khun Titiya also tells us about the hotel's
plans for a lavish New Year's Eve party, how they are motivating
staff when everyone knows that the property will close in just a
few months time, and what the new Dusit Thani Bangkok will be like.
We also talk about F&B operations, and you will
learn how Dusit is going to keep some of its hugely popular
restaurants like Mayflower, Benjarong and Thien Duong open even while
the hotel is being destroyed and the new one built.
Khun Titiya tells us how Dusit would like
to position the new hotel, whether it will compete against the
world's biggest luxury brands such as Ritz-Carlton, Waldorf Astoria
and
Four Seasons, or will it settle for a position slightly below that.
We
also ask whether the new hotel will be an all-suite property and
even if there is a chance of two hotels - such as a Dusit Thani
and a D2 - in one building - a common trend with some hotel
companies. All this and
much, much more in the HD video and podcast below.
