Melia Signs Luxury Hotel in Chengdu, China

Meliá Hotels International has signed a management contract with Chengdu Renju Tourism & Hospitality for a Gran Meliá hotel in Chengdu, China.

Gran Meliá Chengdu is the third Gran Meliá property to be brought to China and the group’s 11th Chinese property overall.

"We’re proud to embark on this new partnership with Chengdu Renju Real Estate, a strong state-owned real estate development enterprise in Chengdu, who has a proven success track record and shares the same operational concept with our company,” said Mr. Bernardo Cabot, Senior Vice President of Meliá Hotels International Asia Pacific. "I’m confident that with this strong partnership we can create an exceptional and unique property, and bring Spanish luxury and Spanish hospitality to Chengdu.”

Scheduled to open in 2021, Gran Meliá Chengdu, located in the northwest of JinCheng Lake Park, will feature 270 guest rooms and suites.

For gourmets, the hotel will include an international dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant with private dining room, a specialty restaurant and a lobby bar.

The hotel will also have a choice of event space.
