ATR has confirmed that it will add a brand new Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to its Toulouse
Training Center.
Manufactured by CAE, this new simulator will
allow crew members to receive training on the ATR 72-600.
Based at ATR headquarters, the simulator will be both
EASA and FAA-certified. It will enable ATR to provide its
customers and operators with an extended capacity for training,
with 4,500 additional training hours per year. It will start
operations in July 2018.
ATR recently equipped its Paris Training Center with an ATR 72-600
FFS, and ATR’s Toulouse Training Center is already equipped with
simulators to support ATR 42-300/500, 72-200/500, and the latest
ATR 72-600 variant.
Tom Anderson, Senior Vice-President Programs and Customer Services
of ATR, said, “The gradual extension of ATR’s training
capacity is our key contribution to solving the global pilot
shortage. We are committed to support our customers’ and
operators’ forthcoming expansion plans, and will continue to add
training capacity, as global demand requires it, for us to remain
the regional leader worldwide.”
Today, ATR has five
training centers in Toulouse, Paris, Johannesburg, Singapore and
Miami.
