Orchard Hotel Singapore is to undergo a major
makeover involving the hotel’s 260 guest rooms, ballroom, lobby,
Orchard Café and Intermezzo Bar.
Work on the Orchard
Café started on 23 July while refurbishment to the ground floor lobby
is scheduled to
start on 20 August 2018. Both areas are expected to be completed by
September and October respectively.
Guest rooms in the Orchard
wing of the hotel will be enhanced progressively between Q4 2018
and Q1
2019 with the ballroom and meeting spaces also set to be refurbished
during this time.
“Orchard Hotel is one of only four hotels in
Singapore with a ballroom that can accommodate 1,000 or more
guests. With the refurbishment works, Orchard Hotel Grand
Ballroom’s standing will be further enhanced as one of the top few
large ballroom venues in Singapore,” said CDLHT in its recent results
presentation.
To help minimise disruption during the restaurant closure, breakfast will
be served at La Terrasse on the second floor. Other dining outlets remain
open as usual.
CDL Hospitality announced its second quarter and half year
results today. The company posted a net property income of S$33.6 million
and S$71.4 million for Q2 2018 and H1 2018 respectively. Total
distribution per stapled security increased 2.9% to 2.14 cents for
Q2 2018 and 5.1% to 4.31 cents for H1 2018.
