Christopher P. Jones has been appointed as Head of
Sales and Marketing for Airbus Americas’ commercial aircraft
business, effective 1 December 2018.
In this capacity, Jones will be responsible for all aspects
of the marketing and sale of Airbus passenger, freight and
corporate aircraft in North America.
Reporting directly to C.
Jeffrey Knittel, Chairman and CEO Airbus Americas, and
functionally to Airbus Chief Commercial Officer Christian Scherer,
Jones will lead the region’s sales, marketing, contracts, and
sales finance teams.
Jones has more than two decades of experience in
aircraft sales and marketing, and most recently worked as Vice
President of Sales for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft in North
America.
The appointment marks a return to Airbus Americas for
Jones, who first joined Airbus in 1998 as Sales Director. He
became Vice President of Marketing in 2007 and was named Vice
President of Sales shortly thereafter.
Prior to joining Airbus, Jones completed a Commercial
Apprenticeship at British Aerospace, combined with studies in
business and finance at the University of Hertfordshire (U.K.). He
then worked in Marketing and Sales in the U.S. on the Jetstream
and AVRO RJ programs.

engagement that have been hallmarks of his career – both at Airbus
and, more recently, at Bombardier,” said Knittel. “His experience
in nurturing strong and mutually- beneficial customer relationships
will serve Airbus and our airline partners well in this market. We
