Fiji Airways’ subsidiary Fiji Link has opened a
VIP Lounge for domestic travellers at Nadi International Airport.
The Flying Fijian Club is a by-invitation-only lounge dedicated Fiji Link’s
VIP guests and all Fijian national rugby players sponsored by the Fiji
Airways Group.
Fiji Airways Group Managing Director and CEO
Andre Viljoen, said, “We recently opened our brand new Fiji
Airways Premier Lounge for VIP guests travelling internationally,
and our team worked hard in parallel to complete The Flying Fijian
Club for our VIP domestic guests. Fiji Link is a critical part of our network and
has been a key customer experience focus area for the Fiji Airways
Group.”
The Flying Fijian Club incorporates a sports bar
theme and caters for up to 40 guests. The lounge offers wifi,
beverages, a workstation, TV and a meeting room.
The most striking
feature of the Flying Fijian Club is the unique collection of
sporting memorabilia which adorns the walls. These include
autographed rugby jerseys from various Fijian rugby teams over the
years as well as an autographed jersey from the 2017 Super Rugby
Champions - the BNZ Crusaders There are various other autographed
sporting artifacts from athletes like Roy Krishna and Jarryd
Hayne.
“We are now operating two brand new VIKING DHC-6 Twin Otter
aircraft which complement our young ATR fleet. Two more brand new
Twin Otters will arrive this year to give our domestic guests the
most comfortable and reliable aircraft flying in Fiji. In addition
to investments in the fleet, we now offer even more value to Fiji
Link’s VIP customers with an exclusive lounge to relax or work
before their domestic flight. And by extending the guest list to
include all Fiji Airways national rugby teams, we’re demonstrating
our commitment to Fiji Rugby,” added Andre Viljoen.
Fijian National Teams who are invited to the
lounge include the Fiji Airways 7s Team, the Fiji Airways Fijiana
7s, the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians (15s), the Fiji Airways
Women’s 15s team, and the Fiji Airways Drua.
Gareth Baber, Fiji Airways National 7s Coach,
said, “When people do things like
this for you, it gives us a huge boost. We always now that when we
get a good experience, it becomes part of our process. And that
part of the process, which takes a bit of pain away when we’re
travelling as much as we do, is phenomenal for us in terms of
being able to up our performance level.”
