Hilton has
appointed Danny Hughes as Executive Vice President and
President, Americas.
Effective 4 September 2018, Hughes (pictured) will oversee
Hilton’s interests across North, Central and South America with a
focus on enhancing the managed portfolio.
Hughes will
report to Hilton’s President and Chief Executive Officer,
Christopher J. Nassetta, and will remain based at the company’s
global headquarters in McLean, Virginia.
“Danny is a 30-year
Hilton and hospitality industry veteran with professional
expertise developed in property, operations, and commercial
leadership roles,” said Nassetta. “He is a shrewd commercial leader
and a consistent advocate for our guests, Team Members, and
owners. Danny’s successful track record of finding and capturing
growth opportunities is a key reason for his elevation to the
region’s lead role.”
Since 2014, Hughes has led Hilton’s
Revenue Management and Sales team as Senior Vice President and
Commercial Director in the Americas. In that regional role, he led
more than 4,000 Team Members delivering growth for Hilton’s
portfolio of 14 industry-leading brands.
Hughes previously served as Senior Vice President, Latin America
and Caribbean, where in partnership with our diverse ownership
groups, he was responsible for expanding our portfolio from one
brand (Hilton Hotels & Resorts) to nine brands across 25 countries
and territories.
"I am honored to join the Executive Committee
of the world’s most hospitable company,” said Hughes. “Ours is a
diverse region with hotel opportunities across both established
and developing travel markets. I will be focused on maintaining
our position as one of the world’s best workplaces, and on being
the first hospitality choice for our guests.”
