Joni Aker Appointed GM of the Treeline Urban Resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia

Ms Joni Aker has been appointed as General Manager of the Treeline Urban Resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

A native New Zealander, Joni is has spent several years living and working abroad, eight of which have been in Cambodia.

Joni worked most recently as Cruise Director for Aqua Expeditions, operating on the Mekong between Cambodia and Vietnam as well as on the Amazon in Peru.

Joni has a deep passion for Cambodia and philanthropy, making her the ideal candidate to manage this chic new property which will support and promote local artistic talent within the community through its Treeline Art Foundation.

“I am thrilled to be joining HMD Asia and to have this opportunity to be at the helm of their first managed property,” said Joni. “Treeline Urban Resort will add an innovative urban style to the local hotel scene in Siem Reap. The property is quite unique – sophisticated, vibrant and modern yet manages to encompass the importance of our natural surrounds and the fantastic growing arts scene in Cambodia. I am excited not only by the property itself and building an amazing team to run it, but by being able to  promote the incredible artistic talent found locally and to actively play a part in ensuring the improvement and protection of oursurrounding natural environment.”

Located on the banks of the Siem Reap River, the 48-room Treeline Urban Resort is scheduled to open 1 November 2018.
