Finnair has signed a new codeshare
agreement with Alaska Airlines.
Starting
20 May 2018, Finnair’s code will be added to flights operated by Alaska
Airlines between San Francisco and the following cities: Seattle,
Portland, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego,
Orange County and Palm Springs.
The new codeshare flights will offer
smooth connections for Finnair customers connecting in San
Francisco, where Finnair operates from Helsinki with up to three
weekly frequencies between 3 May and 5 December 2018.
“We
are very happy to collaborate once again with Alaska Airlines on
this new codeshare agreement,” said Philip Lewin, head of
partnerships and alliances at Finnair. “The new codeshares will
help us widen our network on the West Coast and offer more options
for our customers. San Francisco is a key destination for Finnair
and we have just extended the season until early December due to
strong demand.”
Finnair and Alaska Airlines signed a frequent flyer partnership
in May 2017, which enables members of both the Finnair Plus
loyalty program and the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan to earn and
redeem miles or points on flights operated by both airlines.
"Our Mileage Plan members are now able to
fly Finnair to over 60 destinations in Europe from San Francisco,
as well as from Chicago, New York's JFK and Miami,” said Charles Breer, Alaska Airlines managing director of alliances. “We’re
pleased to add this codeshare cooperation to our partnership,
which offers our joint travelers greater convenience.”
