Park Hotel Group's flagship property, the Grand
Park City Hall on Coleman Street in the heart of Singapore’s Civic
District, is now in the final phase of its transformative
masterplan which is scheduled to be completed by Q3 2018.
The 343-room Grand Park City Hall hotel
including its modern European Tablescape Restaurant & Bar are a
part of Park Hotel Group’s upcoming mixed-use lifestyle precinct
comprising City Hall Square, a new dining, shopping and
entertainment destination that is set on the conservation site of
St. Gregory Place.
“Grand Park City Hall, our new jewel in the crown, is
a spectacular juxtaposition of modern technology and
heritage-influenced art and design. The hotel is a testament to
our commitment to deliver exceptional hospitality and travel
experiences for our guests by empowering them with digital
innovation and giving them a sense of place through our inspiring
interiors,” said Allen Law, Chief Executive Officer, Park Hotel
Group.
Grand Park City Hall is
piloting a mobile application that allows guests to skip the
queue and front desk following a digital check-in and go straight
to their room with their digital key. Industry regulations and
practices currently require hotel guests to provide their personal
identification documents such as passports at hotel front desks
even after digital check-in. With the new Grand Park City Hall
application, this authentication process can be easily completed
by guests taking a selfie on their mobile phones.
In addition, solving one of the worst frustrations travellers have
with multiple light switches in hotel rooms, the same phone
application can enable guests to adjust in-room lighting and
climate cooling.
Similarly, simple requests for extra amenities
such as towels and bottled water can be made via the app.
Following the
completion of 186 brand new rooms, the final phase of
transformation will feature an additional 157 guest rooms and
suites, a new gym facility, a new swimming pool as well as a new
rooftop garden event space.
Located on the top floors of the
hotel, a collection of contemporary suites offer private gardens
along with in-built jacuzzis. Six pairs of interconnecting
child-friendly rooms are specifically designed with families in
mind, complete with colourful bean bag chairs, an activity desk, a
magnetic blackboard wall and rolling paper for kids to express
their creativity. Crystal Club guests will also have access to the
new Crystal Club Lounge with its associated privileges.
As part of the restoration work,
Grand Park City Hall will also feature new architectural design
elements including an updated driveway and entrance. A new
majestic bronze arch gate now fronts the entrance to the hotel’s
colonial-style façade, symbolic of the welcoming and attentive
service that awaits guests as they step through the doors.
