Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been appointed by
German real estate company, Bayerische Hausbau, to manage a new
luxury hotel in Munich.
The Rosewood Munich, scheduled to open in early 2023,
will be Rosewood’s first
property in Germany and seventh in Europe.
The Rosewood Munich will be housed in two landmark, historical buildings comprised of the former
headquarters of the State Bank of Bavaria (19th century) and the
adjacent Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, a former grand aristocratic
residence (early 18th century).
The hotel will be situated on Kardinal-Faulhaber-Strasse in the heart of the
historic city center, within walking
distance of several of the city’s most popular sites and
destinations including central Marienplatz square, the Residenz
city palace, Bavarian State Opera, and the Maximilian and Theatinerstraße
shopping districts, as well as world renowned museums.
Rosewood Munich will offer 132 guestrooms and suites designed to
complement the property’s original façade and iconic stairways,
which remain well preserved and contribute to the city of Munich’s
ensemble of historical buildings.
The property
will feature a lobby lounge and two distinct dining
venues, which include a full service restaurant and a bar.
Rosewood Munich will also feature a full service spa, which will
house five treatments rooms, as well as an indoor pool and fitness
area.
Additionally, the hotel will include extensive meetings and
events spaces to accommodate a variety of private gatherings,
conferences, and special events for up to 400 guests.
“With its rich history and distinct culture, Munich is an
ideal destination for Rosewood’s ever-expanding global portfolio,
and we are thrilled to bring our guiding ‘A Sense of Place’
philosophy to this dynamic city,” said Sonia Cheng, chief
executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “Combining the long
standing traditions and heritage of Bavaria with the dynamism of
modern Germany, Munich offers guests a unique glimpse into the
distinct character of the region and gifts all who visit access to
a fascinating European adventure, making it the perfect
destination for Rosewood’s affluential explorers seeking authentic
and meaningful travel experiences.”
Rosewood Munich will join Rosewood’s other
European properties including Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in
Tuscany, Rosewood London, and the newly reopened Hôtel de Crillon,
A Rosewood Hotel in Paris. Additional upcoming properties in
Europe include Rosewood Vienna, Rosewood Edinburgh, and Rosewood
Hotel, Grosvenor Square in London.
