Marriott has expanded its portfolio of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts
to Kazakhstan with the opening of The St. Regis Astana.
Developed by MG Holding, The St. Regis
Astana is located inside Astana’s Central Park, in close proximity
to landmarks including the Bayterek Tower and Independence Square, as well as the Khan Shatyr
Entertainment Center, Astana Opera and foreign embassies.
“The country’s rich history and culture blend
beautifully with The St. Regis Astana, whose design, services, and
culinary offerings perfectly combine the rituals and traditions of
St. Regis with those of Kazakhstan,” said Lisa Holladay, Global
Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. “Astana is a vibrant
destination that continues to grow in popularity and we look
forward to offering a truly luxurious experience to the growing
ranks of business and leisure travelers visiting the capital
city.”
Created by WATG and Wimberly Interiors, the
hotel’s design takes inspiration from the horsemanship and nomadic culture of Kazakhstan, providing guests with a link to the
country’s ancient past.
A vision of contemporary living, guests
are greeted by a courtyard layout inspired by that of an
indigenous yurt. Set above the ground level, the courtyard
connects the hotel, hotel residences, retail center and offices.
The St. Regis Astana boasts 120 guestrooms,
including 23 suites with private Juliette terraces and views of the Astana Park and
Ishim River.
An expansive Presidential Suite, measuring 510 square
meters, occupies the top floor of the hotel, offering
custom-designed furniture, a study, drawing room, dining room that
can accommodate up to 10 guests, wine vault, a spacious bathroom
that includes a sauna, and a 139-square-meter private outdoor
terrace.
The St. Regis
Astana features two distinct dining venues including The Grill, a
contemporary fine dining experience with a personalized table-side
presentation serving Astana’s best cuts of meats, fish and
vegetables. La Rivière, the city’s renowned
restaurant, has found a new home at The St. Regis Astana, offering
a wide selection of the finest cuisine and wine in the city.
Additionally, The St. Regis Bar features
some of the world’s finest champagnes, rare vintage wines, hand-crafted
cocktails, and the signature St. Regis Bloody Mary. Guests are
invited to try the Nomad Snapper, the hotel’s own take on Bloody
Mary. Inspired by the ancient traditions of nomad, the Nomad
Snapper represents the nomadic culture at the vast steppes of
Kazakhstan. Served in a glass that resembles the Bayterek, one of
the signature monuments of Astana, the cocktail unites local
flavors, such as Kurt cheese, Adjika and Aral Sea salt, while Kurt
and wheat bread infusion add a unique touch.
The hotel also features over 1,000 square meters
of functional meeting space, a spa, beauty and grooming salon, a hammam and an indoor swimming pool.
To celebrate the opening,
The St. Regis Astana is offering a special opening package. Starting
from USD480 per room per night, guests will enjoy an opulent stay
in a Deluxe room, complimentary breakfasts as well as signature
Bloody Mary for two, and a 30-minute couple massage at Iridium
Spa.
“Astana continues to cement its role on the world center stage
with its heritage, world-class architecture and the recent World
Expo,” said Jenni Benzaquen, Vice President, Luxury Brands, Europe
for Marriott International. “The St. Regis Astana is set to
redefine luxury hospitality with its uncompromising services,
modern luxury and refined elegance.”
