Singapore Airlines has partnered Ming Court, a
Michelin two-star restaurant at Cordis Hotel in Hong Kong, to
bring authentic Cantonese cuisine to passengers departing from
HKIA.
From 30 October 2016 to 30 April 2017,
customers travelling in Suites, First Class, Business Class,
Premium Economy Class and Economy Class from Hong Kong to
Singapore or San Francisco will be offered an enhanced choice of
Chinese dishes from the new menu, designed exclusively by
acclaimed Executive Chef, Mango Tsang Chiu Lit, of Ming Court.
“Ming Court is devoted to customers’ well-being
and is also known for choosing the finest seasonal ingredients in
creating the best authentic Chinese dishes,” said Chef Mango
Tsang, Ming Court. “We incorporated our belief into the new
inflight menu of Singapore Airlines, using nutritious ingredients
such as cordycep flower, which supplements the spleen and soothes
digestion; ginseng, which energises the body; and wolfberry, which
brightens the eyes. We also suggested a nourishing and nutritious
dessert, Chilled Papaya Soup with Snow Fungus and Wolfberry to
alleviate dryness from the relatively low cabin humidity. We are
confident that these dishes by Ming Court will impress and elevate
the dining experience even for the Chinese food gourmands from
Hong Kong.”
The new menu will comprise tantalizing dishes
tailored for each cabin class of Singapore Airlines.
Singapore
Airlines Suite and First Class passengers can look
forward to dishes such as Double Boiled Pork Shank with Chinese Yam and
Wolfberry, Spanish Iberico Pork with Shanxi Aged Vinegar - which is
often used as a health tonic, iron-rich Morel Mushroom Gingko
Rice Quintet, and
Chilled Papaya Soup with Snow Fungus and Wolfberry as dessert.
Business Class customers can enjoy a detoxifying
boost from the appetiser, Truffle Marinated Roast Duck with Cordycep Flower, or a supplement of Omega 3 from Sauteed Prawns in
Hot Bean Sauce.
Premium Economy Class can look forward to Steamed Ginseng with
Minced Pork, while Economy Class customers will get Braised Ee-fu Noodles with Enoki
Mushrooms and Roast Duck Meat.
“Hong Kong is one of the most dynamic dining
capitals in the world. The collaboration with Ming Court marks our
first partnership with a Hong Kong restaurant, an initiative which
demonstrates the lengths that we go to bring the rich culinary
world to our customers table in the sky,” said Mr. Sia Nam Kung. “The specially crafted dishes espouse our shared
beliefs of wellness travel, that a wholesome inflight dining
experience can be both delicious and beneficial for one's
well-being. This gourmet menu reflects the passion
of Singapore Airlines and Ming Court for creating delicacies which
will elevate customers’ taste buds to new heights.”
