Following the inaugural AccorHotels Vietnam
World Masters Golf Championship last September, the event will this
year return to Danang in Central Vietnam from 4 to 10 September.
Open to male and female club golfers aged 35 and
above, this week-long celebration of golf, social events, cultural
experiences and sightseeing is expected to participants from
Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Philippines,
Malaysia, Hong Kong and of course the host nation, Vietnam.
“We’re thrilled to co-host the AccorHotels
Vietnam World Masters Golf Championship in 2016 and further
highlight Danang as a world-class golf destination, where golfers
and spectators can enjoy award-wining golf courses and delight in
our wonderful beachfront and riverside hotels,” said Patrick
Basset, Chief Operating Officer for AccorHotels Upper Southeast
and Northeast Asia.
Participants will play rounds at Danang Golf Club, named by
Golf Magazine USA in 2010 as one of the top 15 golf courses to
open worldwide, and Montgomerie Links Vietnam, which was voted
Best Golf Course in Vietnam in 2010 and 2011 by Vietnam Golf Magazine.
Accommodation during the event is available at Pullman
Danang Beach Resort, the official tournament hotel, as well as Premier Village Danang Resort by Accor and Novotel Danang Premier
Han River.
Pablo Soon from the
Philippines has competed in tournaments around the world and rates
the Vietnam World Masters among the best.
"I think Danang is
perfect for golf holidays and we were spoilt with the event organisation
and hospitality this week. The downtown area is beautiful and we
enjoyed the restaurants and bars. We are already decided to come
back for the tournament next year," he said.
