Birth of a Luxury Thai Hotel Brand - HD Video
Interview with COO
[HD video and podcast below]
A few years ago, a luxury hotel opened in the heart of Chiang Mai,
Thailand. A
hotel which has won many awards, and is unique in its
ability to exude a homely luxury that other hotels find hard to
replicate. It has a sense of place, a history and a class that
worldly travellers find appealing because of its understated
elegance. That hotel is the 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai, a member
of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Now the owners of that hotel are taking their
vision, their desire for perfection, and creating a new luxury
hotel brand that could, within just a few short years, have a
portfolio of six of the most sought after hotels, residences and
retreats in the region.
Heading a talented team of top professionals on
this journey, is Christopher E. Stafford, Chief Operating Officer
of the newly formed 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts.
On Wednesday, 3 August, Steven Howard of
Travel News Asia sat down with Chris to ask him about the new
company, its plans and targets.
We ask about the soon to open 137
Pillars Suites & Residences in Bangkok, where the property is
positioned, which markets they expect it to attract and how it
differentiates itself from the competition while maintaining a
connection to the hotel in Chiang Mai.
You will learn about the group's expansion
plans, where the company may sign a very special property in the next few
weeks, what its targets are and whether the brand will remain
loyal to the luxury segment or whether it will become like so many
others, and dilute itself into numerous sub brands. All this and
much, much more in the HD video below.
