Thai Airways has transferred its flights to
Chongqing in China and Penang, Malaysia to Thai Smile.
Starting 1 July 2016, Thai Smile will
operate daily flights to Chongqing with the A320 aircraft and from
16 July 2016 it will commence operating TG's daily flights to
Penang.
Other new routes planned for Thai
Smile include Surabaya and Medan in Indonesia, and Cebu in
Philippines.
The transfer of flights to Thai Smile
follows the corporate strategic plan for Thai Smile to operate to
secondary cities in ASEAN and the region, while Thai Airways focuses on
marketing and sales.
Currently, Thai Smile
operates to nine domestic destinations in Thailand from Bangkok – Chiang Mai,
Chiang Rai,
Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Phuket, Surat
Thani, Hat Yai, and Narathiwat.
