SAS has launched its ninth direct
route to the USA, with a year-round daily service between
Copenhagen and Boston.
The route will be operated by PrivatAir
using an SAS livery plane. Initially a Boeing 737-800 with 92 seats will operate the
route. However, after a short while a Boeing 737-700 will be used, with
space for 86 passengers, 20 of which will be Business class whilst
66 will be Go class seats.
From Copenhagen, SK927 is scheduled to depart
daily at
12:50 arriving in Boston at 15:20.
From Boston, SK928 departs at 17:30
to arrive the following day at 07:00 in Copenhagen.
“We are the airline with the most robust
offering for people looking to travel between Scandinavia and the
USA,” said
SAS Group CEO, Rickard Gustafson. “Our North American long-haul route expansion underlines this
fact. Copenhagen-Boston is our ninth route, which, together with
the new routes from Copenhagen and Oslo to Miami, will bring us to
11 USA services by September. Our focus is on making life simpler
for frequent flyers, a group of people who are increasingly
demanding direct and flexible options for travel to the USA.”
The airline also recently cut the ribbon on a
new route from Stockholm to Los Angeles, and will start flying to
Miami in September.
SAS already operates services between
Scandinavia and New York, Washington DC, Chicago and San
Francisco.
