Meliá has expanded its portfolio of hotels in
Vietnam with the
signing of a Melia hotel in Ho Tram, the group’s fourth property
under operation in Vietnam.
The other hotels are the Meliá Hanoi, Meliá
Danang and Sol Beach House Phu Quoc.
Managed under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand
and owned by Tanzanite International, the resort is located within
The Hamptons Ho Tram complex.
Once completed in the
second half of 2018, the resort will feature a total of 156 hotel
suites and 98 villas.
“The expansion of our Vietnam
portfolio in one of the most dynamic regions in the world is
strong indication our growth strategy is paying off,” said
Bernardo Cabot Estarellas, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific of
Meliá Hotels International. “Our company has an impeccable track
record and has been an established leader in the resort segment
for decades; coupled with our extensive hotel management
expertise, we’ve always been the top pick for demanding hotel
owners. Today we join with Tanzanite International and are excited
to offer travellers to the Asia Pacific region an unparalleled
luxury resort and beachfront living experience.”
Renowned
for its pristine beaches and a gorgeous countryside, The Hamptons
Ho Tram is located approximately 95 kilometers southeast of Ho Chi
Minh (Saigon), along the same beach strip as the Grand Casino and the
Bluffs Golf Course, which hosted the 2015 Asian PGA Championships.
The area also offers many beachfront restaurants and other leisure
and recreational activities.
The beach destination is easily
accessible via new highways, which connect Ho Tram to Ho Chi Minh and neighbouring cities such as Vung Tau, which attracts over
17 million visitors annually.
Also, the proposed new international
airport in the nearby city of Long Thanh is expected to be
operational around 2022, which will cut down travel time to
approximately 45 minutes from the new airport to Ho Tram,
transforming Ho Tram into an international beach destination and
further raising tourism demand.
