VistaJet has been awarded the European Business
Aviation Association’s (EBAA) Diamond Safety of Flight Award.
VistaJet is the first operator ever to receive the
accolade, which is given to companies that surpass 50 years, or
100,000 hours, of flying without an accident.
“Safety is the number one priority in our
industry. That’s why, for several years now, we’ve been
recognizing companies that have made safety a continuing
mission, as demonstrated by outstanding, accident-free records” said EBAA President Brian Humphries. “We extend our sincere
congratulations to VistaJet for exceeding 50 years or 100,000
hours of flying without an accident, as recognized by the
presentation to them, for the first time, of the EBAA Diamond
Safety of Flight Award.”
Ever since it was
launched in 2004, VistaJet has placed the utmost scrutiny on
operational and flight safety, in which it has continued to invest
since
moving its headquarters to Malta, where it provides
world-class training for all of its 400+ crew members and
operational staff.
Since it was founded, VistaJet has
achieved over 200,000 hours of safe operations, having flown
over 210,000 passengers on more than 80,000 flights to
destinations worldwide.
VistaJet Chief Operating Officer Nick van
der Meer said, “We
encourage a constant dialogue between our pilots, cabin crews,
operations staff, and senior leadership team, and work hard to create a culture in which people feel comfortable raising any
concerns. We also place a heavy emphasis on safety through our recruitment process, and provide flight data monitoring on all of
our flights, even though this is not required by law. Nothing is more important to us than the wellbeing of our
customers and staff, so we are incredibly proud to be receiving
the EBAA Diamond Safety of Flight Award today.”
