Hayden Edgtton has been appointed as General
Manager of the new Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya.
The 262-room property, which opened on 6
February 2016, is located next to the Ocean Marina Yacht Club just
15 minutes south of Pattaya City and 20 minutes from U-Tapao
International Airport.
"Hayden is an experienced, passionate and hugely respected
hotelier who has long been an integral part of the Mövenpick
family," said Andrew Langdon, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Senior
Vice President Asia. "He has a great understanding of what makes
us one of the world's leading upscale hospitality brands, and that
invaluable knowledge and experience will be put to excellent use
getting the Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya off to a flying start."
Hayden has honed his hospitality, creative and business
acumen from more than 20 years in the industry, beginning with his
first job in 1994, at Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts in New Zealand,
and continuing in Vietnam, Australia and the Middle East.
In 2004, he opened and operated his own Japanese restaurant and
lifestyle magazine in Australia. His meticulous attention to detail, respect for local cultures and people, and management
skills led him to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2010 as Executive Assistant Manager of the pre-opening team at Mövenpick Hotel
Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai.
Hayden was promoted to General Manager in 2012
and oversaw its successful opening.
"It's a great privilege
to be entrusted with the launch of any Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
This job is particularly exciting, as Pattaya stands on the cusp
of great changes towards a more family friendly destination, and
we aim to be an agent of change in that regard," said Hayden. "This is
the dawn of an exciting new era of upscale hospitality at
beautiful Na Jomtien Beach. What also awaits is an immaculate, highly personalised natural service that blends Swiss efficiency
with Thai warmth, and I look forward to ensuring that's what we deliver to all of our guests."
