Wyndham has expanded its portfolio of hotels in
South Korea with the opening of
two new hotels in Jeju province.
The Ramada Jeju Seogwipo and Days Hotel Jeju Seogwipo Ocean join Wyndham’s
portfolio of 20 hotels currently open and operating in South Korea, while bringing the company’s hotel count in Jeju to seven.
Representing a wave of new development activity in
the country, the openings follow the recent signing of new
agreements for 17 Ramada and six Days Inn hotels, all of which are
expected to open by the end of 2018.
“Jeju Island has a booming tourism industry, which
presents Wyndham Hotel Group with a great opportunity to expand
its brands across the island,” said Barry Robinson, President and
Managing Director, Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific
Rim. “The island is at the forefront of new
technology with the expected introduction of a smart tourism
platform which merges real-time content and location services
through an application straight from visitors’ smartphones. On top
of this, Jeju’s natural beauty and UNESCO heritage-listed sites
make it the ideal destination for us to position our brands for
the modern-day traveller looking for adventures and ease of
travel.”
