Accor Takes Over Hotel on Koh Samui's Chaweng Beach in Thailand

Kata Group Resorts has appointed AccorHotels to manage and rebrand the former Kandaburi Resort and Spa.

The 181-room Novotel Samui Resort Chaweng Beach Kandaburi, located on Chaweng beach, features two swimming pools, a spa, and three bars and restaurants.

"With a new partnership, we believe that AccorHotels will drive the continued success and popularity of the resort. Koh Samui is a very competitive market and we are confident that the reputation of the Novotel brand combined with AccorHotels' global distribution channels will help raise the profile and prosperity of the property for many years to come," said Mr. Pramookpisitt Achariyachai, Kata Group Resorts Founder and President. "We will continue our strategy of partnership with international brands as well as operating our own brands, such as Beyond, as we grow our presence in Thailand and support the country's thriving tourism industry."

Kata Group Resorts is the owner of six resorts in Southern Thailand in Phuket, five of which it operates, starting out with Kata Beach Resort and Spa and Phuket Orchid Resort and Spa during Thailand's fledgling tourism years in the late 1970s.

In 2012, Kata Group launched the Beyond Resorts brand, with luxury adults-only concepts at Beyond Resort Khaolak, Beyond Resort Karon and Beyond Resort Krabi, featuring pool villas and unique experiences curated for couples. That latter resort also accepts families.

Kata Group Resorts is poised for a listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2017 with the intention of further growth in Phuket and Pattaya.
