Vietjet has unveiled plans to launch flights
between Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) on 9 December 2016.
With a flight time of 2 hours 45 minutes per
leg, the new route will depart daily from Hong Kong at 19:20
(local time) and arrive at 21:05.
The return leg from Ho Chi Minh
will take off at 14:35 (local time) and land at Hong Kong
International Airport at 18:20.
Vietjet
President & CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said, “Asia is poised to be
the biggest aviation market in the world and more than 50% of the
world’s population lives within a radius of 2,500 miles from
Vietjet’s current bases. Vietjet is well-positioned to serve
quality and creative aviation services across our primary
international networks while also connecting key regional
destinations with each other, including Hong Kong.”
Saigon is Vietnam’s largest
city with more than 10 million residents and the country's main
hub for business, fashion, retail, entertainment and culture.
The new route will Vietjet’s first
service to Hong Kong, and increases Vietjet’s total frequent
routes between Vietnam and Greater China to nine.
The airline currently
boasts a total of 53 routes, 18 of which are international.
