The Nai Harn Resort in Phuket, Thailand Partners Wine Critic James Suckling

The Nai Harn in Phuket, Thailand has forged a partnership with global wine expert James Suckling.

The wine critic, together with the in-house experts at The Nai Harn, has created a wine list which will inspire a series of events this year culminating in a black tie dinner in December to celebrate the collection of wines exclusively available at the resort.

James, an American national and resident of Hong Kong, lives part of the year in Bangkok.

Frank Grassmann, General Manager of The Nai Harn, said, "There are very few people in the world - if any at all - with his knowledge of wines and guests will be able to relish some truly insightful and creative selections."

Among the wines that grace the list by James Suckling are:

Peter Michael Sauvignon Blanc Knights Valley L'Après-Midi 2013. Peter Michael, USA, 95 points;

Brunello di Montalcino 2010 Casanova di Neri, Italy, 96 points; and

Riesling Alsace Frédéric Emile 2007 F E Trimbach France, 97 points.

James Suckling, fresh from his world tour highlighting The Great Wines of Italy in Hong Kong, Bangkok, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, said he was delighted to be launching his first hotel partnership which would be exclusive to The Nai Harn in Thailand.

"We will have a lot of fun here and I am convinced guests to The Nai Harn will love the collection of wines we have selected especially for the resort," said James Suckling. "We have taken a lot into consideration from the culinary experiences created by the incredible team here led by Frank Grassmann and Kevin Fawkes to the climate and variety of guests' palettes - and we will look forward to celebrating great wines throughout the year."
