Myanmar (Burma) Tourism Update 2016 - HD Video

[HD video below] Ms. Aye Kyi Kyi, Tourism Consultant for the Myanmar Tourism Federation, gave a very good media presentation during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2016 in Manila, Philippines.

Despite Myanmar, without a doubt one of the most countries in ASEAN, having enormous tourism potential, hotels in the country experienced declines in occupancy (-11.9% to 49.9%) and RevPAR (-4.8% to MMK101,719.01) in January 2016. ADR in the country was up 8.0% to MMK203,849.50.

According to STR, demand in the country has decreased year-on-year for 17 straight months, leading to continued drops in RevPAR.

In this video you can see most of the press conference which covers visitor arrivals, tourism targets, number of hotels open and under development, as well as Myanmar's overall tourism strategy for 2016 and beyond.
