Making a Difference: Hoteliers in UK Take on Mountain for Charity

A team of intrepid fundraisers from Redefine|BDL Hotels, an UK-based independent hotel management company, has conquered a mountain for charity.

The 14-strong sales team took on the highest mountain in Wales, Mount Snowdon, in freezing conditions to collect funds for Make-A-Wish UK, Redefine|BDL Hotels’ 2016 charity partner.

Facing the 3,560ft climb in snow and freezing winds proved worthwhile, as the central sales team raised more than £3,500 for the charity, which supports children and young people with life-threatening conditions. The first team completed the climb in 5 hours.

Rob Ledson, Group Director of Sales for Redefine|BDL Hotels, who took part in the climb, said, “Taking on Mount Snowdon at any time is an immense challenge, so doing the climb in freezing cold winds and snow made it even more difficult. However, the thought of raising funds for a wonderful charity really kept us going. We’re very proud of the amount raised so far, particularly as our original target was £1,500!”

Redefine|BDL Hotels has pledged to raise £50,000 for Make-A-Wish in 2016. The charity enriches the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

The central sales team members who completed the challenge alongside Rob were: Sarah Monk (Area Director of Sales for Redefine|BDL Hotels), Sarah Ewen (Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC), Aimee Lauder (Telford Whitehouse), Sukhi Multani (Holiday Inn Express Tamworth), Craig Millard (Worcester Whitehouse), Leanne Harrad (Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport and Holiday Inn Manchester West), Clare Galvin (Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC), Christina Vatca (Holiday Inn Manchester West), Ginette Botting (Holiday Inn Express Doncaster), Les Wood (Holiday Inn Milton Keynes), Ella Hiscott (Holiday Inn Express Dunstable) Alix Massey (Holiday Inn Cambridge) and Danielle Garrigan (Aloft Liverpool).
