Airberlin has expanded its codeshare agreement
with Virgin Australia.
Airberlins flight numbers now feature on 10
Virgin Australia routes connecting Australia with five
destinations in New Zealand.
The flights include services from Sydney, Melbourne
and Brisbane to Christchurch and to Auckland; services from
Brisbane to the New Zealand capital, Wellington and to Dunedin and
services from Sydney and Brisbane to Queenstown.
Stefan Pichler, airberlins Chief Executive
Officer, said, "New Zealand is a great destination and our
extended relationship with Virgin Australia brings this
fascinating country even closer, which is testimony to the
excellent partnership the two airlines have enjoyed since 2013.
Virgin Australia services between Australia and
New Zealand are operated by Boeing 737 aircraft.
In September, airberlin placed its flight numbers
on services from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to the Australian
capital of Canberra and Hobart on the island state of Tasmania,
from Sydney and Melbourne to Tasmania's second largest city,
Launceston, from Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth to Darwin, and from
Perth to Adelaide.
Virgin Australia also expanded its network in
Europe by placing its VA flight numbers on airberlin services from
Berlin to Cologne, Stockholm and Helsinki, as well as from
Dusseldorf to Hamburg.
