Thai Airways has announced that it will delay
the launch of Airbus A350 flights to
Melbourne, Australia originally planned for 16 September 2016.
Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira, Thai's
President, said that the delay was due to additional inspections and
requirements from Australian authorities on Thai Airways’ A350XWB.
Mr. Charamporn said that the approval of Thai’s
Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner had been much shorter.
The airline must now delay the launch of A350
flights
to Melbourne until the authorities have completed their approval
process.
Thai Airways will operate the A350 between
Bangkok-Chiang Mai and Bangkok-Phuket until approval is received,
which the airline expects to be around the end of October in time
for the start winter schedule.
Thai Airways continues to operate normal schedule with
two flights daily to Melbourne, Australia.
