Bangkok-based Destination Spa Management (DSM)
has assumed management of the Svarga Loka Resort in Ubud, Bali.
The 50-room wellness resort, which opened in
2014, is a labour of love by husband and wife team, Susanto
Hartanto and Dewi Sardjito who initially came across the land
while seeking a haven for their retirement. The pair subsequently
felt that the land was a perfect sanctuary for anyone seeking a
new lease on life, and so Svarga Loka (meaning ‘the heavenly
place’) was born.
“Our expertise will be used to develop a
stronger wellness offering for Svarga Loka, introducing
purpose-driven holistic programmes beyond what is currently
available in Bali,” said Joy Menzies, Managing Director of DSM.
“In the centre of Ubud, overlooking rice fields and built next to
the river, the property’s healing energy is already attracting
world class practitioners to its doors and guests looking for
lifestyle change. As experts in wellness properties and long time
lovers of Bali, we recognise the immense opportunities to
carefully craft Svarga Loka whilst bringing it to international
acclaim.”
The property is the fourth management contract
for DSM, and the second to become operational.
