Staff at Luxury Hotel in Chiang Mai Plant 137 Trees

In keeping with its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a team of seventeen staff from the luxury 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai hotel planted 137 trees at Baan Tom Thai Dam in commemoration of World Environment Day on 5 June.

Deforestation in the area has led to a shortage of water and challenges in agriculture.

In addition to helping with reforestation, the event also served to drive awareness among the staff and local community of the importance of rehabilitation and protection of resources.

Anne Arrowsmith, General Manager of the 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai, said, “The very existence of 137 Pillars House is a consequence of Thailand's early timber industry. It is therefore a natural synergy that the present custodians of this special house are involved in restoring and replenishing woodland areas in Northern Thailand. We should all passionately play a part in protecting our environment and the staff at 137 are enthusiastic and pleased to make a small contribution.”
