Singapore Airlines and Air Mauritius have signed
a codeshare agreement.
The deal allows Singapore Airlines to add
its ‘SQ’ designator code to Air Mauritius-operated flights between
Singapore and Mauritius.
Air Mauritius currently operates three
flights per week on the route.
“We are delighted with the new agreement with
Air Mauritius, which will add the beautiful island nation of
Mauritius to the SIA codeshare network,” said Singapore Airlines’
Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Mr
Tan Kai Ping. “This is another example of how we are continuously
looking to expand our reach to provide customers across the SIA
network with more travel options.”
The codeshare agreement is expected to take
effect for travel from 1 November 2016, subject to regulatory
approvals.
Megh
Pillay, CEO of Air Mauritius, said, “This new partnership will enable
our customers to benefit from the networks of Air Mauritius and
Singapore Airlines through Mauritius and Singapore.”
