Shangri-La to Open Hotel in Haigang District of Qinhuangdao on Friday

On Friday, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will open the doors to a new hotel in the Haigang District of Qinhuangdao, a small seaside city renowned for its blue waters and golden beach.

As one of China’s more popular summer destinations, the 23-storey Shangri-La Hotel, Qinhuangdao is located in a prime position along Bohai Bay, just a 15-minute drive to the train station that shuttles travellers via high-speed links to Tianjin and Beijing in under two hours.

Qinhuangdao in Hebei province is where history, dating back more than 2,000 years, and the present day meet. The city bears the first Emperor of China’s name, Qin Shi Huang, and remnants of the eastern end of the former ruler’s Great Wall.

Next to the hotel are attractions such as the Olympic Centre, National Forest Park and Xin’ao Marine World. Shanhaiguan Airport is 35 minutes away by car.

Each of the hotel’s 330 guestrooms and suites, measuring 45 to 135 square metres, feature full-length windows that look out on the seaside setting, a plush sofa, ample desk space and marble appointed bathroom. Most rooms also offer a balcony overlooking Bohai Bay.

From levels 20 to 22, the Horizon Club rooms provide an even higher standard of accommodation matched by personalised service from the concierge team at the spacious Horizon Club Lounge on level 23. There, guests can enjoy breakfast, all-day refreshments, use of the club’s meeting facilities and sea views from the terrace.

Like all Shangri-La properties worldwide, Wi-Fi is complimentary and accessible throughout all areas and in the hotel’s limousines.

The hotel’s wellness facilities comprise a 25-metre indoor free-form pool, fully equipped gym, jacuzzi and spa with nine treatment rooms. Bicycle rentals allow guests the option to take a leisurely pedal on the beach path or around the waterfront neighbourhood.

On levels two and three of the hotel are eleven function rooms including a Grand Ballroom, which is the city’s largest at over 1,658 square metres and nine metres high.

To celebrate its opening the Shangri-La Hotel, Qinhuangdao is offering rates from RMB558 per room per day including breakfast for one person, 20% discount on laundry and double Golden Circle points.
