[HD video below] Banyan The Resort, Hua Hin, has appointed Romain Aletru as Executive Chef.

A French national, Romain Aletru moved to Hua Hin with his family in 2012 and held consultancy jobs with a couple of restaurants including creating and updating menus, training kitchen and front of the house staff, assisting the head chef on preparation techniques, advising on sourcing of products, and others, prior to moving to Banyan The Resort.

Gaining experience on cooking techniques from his grandmother at an early age, Romain decided to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Culinary Arts from one of the best culinary schools in France, Lycée Hôtelier de La Rochelle.

Romain started his career in the hospitality industry in France in 1999, gaining valuable experience along the way from various restaurants and companies before finally deciding to open his French restaurant in Tahiti, French Polynesia, in 2008. After a few years in Tahiti, Romain and his family decided to move to Hua Hin.

“With his extensive experience, skills and knowledge, Romain will be an added asset to the resort and will competently lead the kitchen team, improve the menus at Lemongrass, in-villa dining as well as function rooms and further contribute to the success of the resort,” said Sirirat Murphy, General Manager of Banyan The Resort, Hua Hin.
