Thai AirAsia Partners Bangkok Bank to Launch Credit Card

Bangkok Bank and AirAsia, AirAsia BIG and MasterCard have together launched a new credit card.

Thai AirAsia X CEO, Nadda Buranasiri, said that the Bangkok Bank AirAsia Platinum MasterCard Credit Card cardholders will receive superior privileges from AirAsia, AirAsia X and Bangkok Bank such as earning 1 BIG Point for every Baht 20 spent to redeem for free domestic and international flights. They can also earn triple BIG Points when making payments with the card on AirAsia’s website, AirAsia sales counters or the AirAsia call center.

Cardholders can also make payments using the Be Smart installment plan with a 0% interest rate for 3 months or with a special interest rate for up to 10 months in accordance with the bank’s conditions.

Cardholders each year will receive four complimentary vouchers for free checked baggage and four complimentary vouchers for an upgrade to premium seats.

Other privileges include priority boarding, priority baggage and a complimentary inflight hot or cold drink. Customers who apply for the card before 31 December 2015, and who spend Baht 5,000 or more in the first billing cycle, will receive 5,000 BIG Points to redeem for a free flight.

AirAsia BIG CEO Alice Goh said, "We currently have more than 14 million BIG members worldwide with 1.4 million members in Thailand. This collaboration to launch a credit card will allow AirAsia and Bangkok Bank customers to fly faster. For every Baht 20 spent, cardholders will instantly receive 1 BIG Point instantly. They can also get superior privileges that allow them to book promotional tickets ahead of AirAsia BIG members."
