Vietjet has welcomed its 10 millionth passenger,
a milestone achievement for the airline after just three years of
operations.
The lucky passenger, Ms. Kang Jeong Hee, a South
Korean business woman, arrived from Ho Chi Minh on flight VJ270 to Vinh's newly furbished airport, located in the capital of Nghe An
province in North Central Vietnam.
As the 10 millionth passenger, she will enjoy complimentary
flights with Vietjet for a whole year.
Attending an event to mark the occasion were
officials from the Ministry of Transport, Vietnam, Airports
Corporation of Vietnam and authorities from Nghe An Province.
“Vinh International Airport
boasts excellent facilities and an attractive, modern design that
will facilitate the growing transport demands for Nghe An Province
and contribute to the economic development of the whole north
central region,” said Mr. Desmond Lin, Business Development
Director of Vietjet. “Looking forward, Vietjet is
committed to adding routes and increasing flight frequency of
existing flights to Vinh City to meet increasing travel demand.
Our Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh connection has already boosted tourism
and trade growth between the two destinations. Meanwhile, we are
delighted to have flown 10 million passengers and look forward to
flying many more in the coming years.”
In celebration of its 10 millionth passenger, Vietjet is
currently running a daily promotion on all domestic and
international routes. As part of the promotion includes the
airline’s recently opened two routes from Hanoi to Quy Nhon and Ho
Chi Minh to Dong Hoi which will commence operations on 26 April
2015 and 29 April 2015 respectively.
With a fleet of 20 Airbus A320 aircraft, Vietjet
now operates 150 flights per day. The airline currently operates
28 domestic and international routes across the region, including
destinations such as Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan and
Cambodia.
