LG and Google Launch Nexus 5X

LG Electronics and Google have launched the Nexus 5X.

Featuring Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google’s newest operating system for mobile devices, the Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch 423ppi Full HD IPS display with advanced In-Cell Touch technology.

The Nexus 5X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor and has a Type-C USB port which LG says will provide enough power for almost four hours of battery life after just a 10-minute charge.

The Nexus 5X sports a 12.3MP rear camera and a 5MP camera in the front. Both the 1.55um sensor on the rear camera and 1.4um above the display absorb more light than any previous Nexus device, delivering brighter photos with more detail even in less than ideal lighting conditions. The smartphone is also capable of capturing 4K and slow-motion videos.

For security the Nexus 5X has a fingerprint sensor on the back which can be used to power on and unlock Nexus the phone for immediate use. For owners in the United States,  fingerprint sensor will also work with Android Pay.

Nexus 5X is now available for pre-order on the Google Store in the United States, Canada, UK, Ireland, Korea and Japan with shipping scheduled to start late October.

Starting 19 October, Nexus 5X will begin rolling out to additional markets with nearly 40 countries to offer the device via Google Store or local retail establishments in the fourth quarter.

Prices are expected to be announced locally in the weeks to come.
